Scientific name of Lucuma is Pouteria Lucuma. The Incas called it Gold.
Also called as egg fruit. as its yolk is similar to yolk of an egg. It looks like a
cross between avocado and mango. It tastes like a cross between maple,
caramel and sweet potato. It was used as a low GI, natural fruit sweetener
(with a lot of nutrients and antioxidants thrown in).
